Victorian Road Racing Championship

Round 3 - Broadford October 10th - 12th 2025

This years Victorian Road Race Championship has had a pretty disjointed calendar. The first 2 rounds were held way back in Jan and Feb this year followed by a massive break. The series resumed in mid October with round 3 at Broadford International Raceway.

While it always sucks for riders to be sidelined, it was great to see Stanz, Luke Sanders and Timmo Large at the track providing help and support to the team.

Harley Side #95 - Supersport

Yamaha R6 (Nev)

Q - 2nd

R1 - 1st

R2 - 1st

R3 - 1st

Overall - 1st

Current Championship Position - 3rd (missed round 2)

Saucey has had a mega disjointed 12 months when it comes to his racing. Harley missed round 2 of the VRRC due to a nasty concussion sustained in a motocross training accident, which has ruled him out of contention for the championship in 2025.

We have also been slammed with work this year so Harley's role as our workshop manager has meant he has had little time for his own riding or training. So it is fair to say that Sauce was a little rusty, as the whole team was truth be told.

Still that didn't stop him taking victory in all 3 Supersport races over the weekend. Our pace was a little off our normal standards but we'll take 3 from 3. Always great to have a little bit of Sauce on top!

Colin Bone #69 - Supersport 300

Kawasaki Ninja 400 (Steve)

Q - 10th

R1 - 11th

R2 - 12th

R3 - 8th

Overall - 8th

Current Championship Position - 5th

Boners weekend couldn't have started off any better. He was straight into it, smashing out a PB with a 1.05.6 in Friday practice. Pretty impressive considering the last time he rode was February!!

Unfortunately that is as good as it got for Colin, he suffered a rare stack in qualifying badly winding himself and tearing ligaments in his ribs in the process. Despite the pain Colin raced on however he did struggle to regain his pace due to the pain he was in coupled with a confidence knock as the stack did catch him off guard. Still he gritted his teeth and put in a solid performance in Race 3.

Will Sharrock #44 - Superbike

Yamaha R1 (Bill)

Q - 4th

R1 - 4th

R2 - 5th

R3 - 4th

Overall - 4th

Current Championship Position - 5th

New PB: 57.6!

As all the other team riders, it was a long time off the bike for Will. The goal going into the round was simple. Do our best to get on par with our previous best and then chip away from there.

Well Will smashed that by delivering his first ever was 57 sec lap time around Broadford, culminating with a new PB of 57.6. We simply didn't have the pace or class of the front runners to ever challenge for anything more than 4th, however it certainly was a step in the right direction for us and we will be working for more to come.

Alex Brisbane #54 - Supersport 300

Yamaha R3 (Pasquale)

Q - 12th

R1 - 12th

R2 - 10th

R3 - 10th

Overall - 12th

Current Championship Position - 6th

For Alex, the weekend started off.... well, shithouse! His usual pace simply was not there. After a few sessions we were left with a bit of head scratching as to what was going on. Alex kept his head, remained calm and just tried to work through it. However it is never easy and is frustrating when we can't seem to unlock what is happening.

A key observation by Luke Sanders lead to a little break though and reclaiming some of Alex's speed. Luke's detailed eye noticed that Alex's body position seemed different on the bike. This generated a conversation the led us to the realization that we had overlooked the ergonomics change that was made before the round. Once we put that into account, we found some pace. Still a way to go but we will see what we can do at round 4!

Hamish Gibbs #33 - Supersport (*C-Grade)

Kawasaki ZX6 (Kermit)

Q - 7th - *1st

R1 - 6th - *2nd

R2 - 9th - *4th

R3 - 4th - *1st!!

Overall - 4th - *1st!

Current Championship Position - 6th - *1st

New PB 59.3!!!!!!!!!! yeee ha!

The sledge hammer, Hamish had a standout round! After being a Race Center Customer with his bike setup and tuned here at RC, Hamish displayed an interest in going racing, A conversation followed and Hamish was invited to join the Race Center team for 2025.  Boy oh boy has he done a great job in his first season of racing. Hamish is currently leading the C-Grade standings in Supersport, however it was his lap times and position outright that really impressed.

Hammer's targets for the weekend was to dip into the 59s for the first time ever. Well, he smashed that crap out with so many 59s that he is now deep into them. In fact he ended the weekend getting closer to 58s than his old 60s with a very impressive 59.3. It wasn't very long ago at all that Hamish was doing 62s.

Due to how hard he smashed his targets, Hamish has earned himself a new nickname, 'the Sledge Hammer'.

Matthew Ritter #23 /Megacycle - Supersport 300

Massive shout out to Matthew Ritter and the Megacycle Team. Matty has been doing some great work in both the VRRC and ASBK this year under the guidance of Megacycles' Ken Onus, who also happened to be Dazza's mentor back in the day too! 20 year on, Kenny is still doing great work with Matty who is absolutely flying these days with more to come. Matty finished 2nd outright and did a blistering 1.02 on a 300!!

The Crew

As always, none of this would be possible without our amazing crew. Turning bikes around, fixing stacked bikes, tyre programs, the lot! They are a great bunch that we would be stuffed without. That also includes the team that stays back at the workshop delivering customers work.
